FOSTER FAMILY EXPERIENCES |
| This was written by a PFCS foster
child about her foster mother for Mothers Day 2002: My Hero . . . My Mother The reason why I think my Foster Mother is a
Hero is because she raised three natural children and
then decided to start over. I am one of the four that she
has in her home. She is adopting another. My sister &
brother & I have been living with her for about 13
months. She is very loving and very giving of ALL of
us. She is really helpful in every way. She has put many
values in my life like: 1) Honesty, 2) Truthfulness,
3) Fairness, 4) Kindness, 5) Manners,
6) Respect for myself, others and my elders and
many, many more things I have learned. As for my mothers values, she is a
good Christian and does not just say she is Christian;
she lives it in our home everyday. She sets a good
example for us all the time. She takes us to church
almost every time there is church. She is true to us.
When she promises us something she does it. Her promises
are good. I have learned to depend on her word. She is
honest and all she taught us she is and more. Every time
we lost hope or faith she would talk to us and encourage
us. If we would get hurt she would wash us up, kiss us,
and put a Band-Aid on it. She rocks us and tells us how
much she loves us and cares for us. She prays for us
every night before we go to bed. I wouldnt give her up for anything in
the world. Even rubies and diamonds
and I mean this with all my heart. If I lost her I
wouldnt know what to do. I wouldnt have made
it through without her. I just want to say THANK YOU
for loving and caring for us. This is why I think my Foster Mother is a HERO. |
