Children all grow and learn at different rates. A child's family
is his or her primary teacher, especially in the first few years
of life. Our Early Intervention services build on the natural
learning that occurs during those first years.
Our services are provided free of charge in your home or
day care center, at your play group or your nursery school,
or even at your child's Early Head Start program.
Our goal is to make Early Intervention services convenient
for you and those who care for your infant or toddler. We
arrange our visits so they fit your schedule. Our focus is on
helping you and your family so you can help your little one
reach his or her full potential.
We begin with an evaluation designed to identify your
child's strengths. Then we craft an individual plan that
builds on those strengths.
We explain how children typically grow and develop,
and help you to recognize these developments in your
own child. We teach you many helpful therapies and
exercises, and show you (and any caregivers you may
have) how to do the therapies with your little one.
We monitor your child's progress and introduce new
therapies and tactics as your child progresses. |
In short we partner with you and empower you and your
extended family to help your child in many ways every day
throughout your child's first three years.
What you do during this important time can make a very
big difference in what your child achieves later in life.
We also help you connect with other families who may be
encountering the same challenges as your child. We put
you in touch with a variety of community organizations
and supports, from play groups to respite care and
advocacy organizations. We advise you about other
services your child may be entitled to receive.
Early Intervention helps you make the most of your child's
first years. If your child has a delay, you don't want to miss this special time of early learning opportunity. Call or e-mail
