Adopt a Child:
Build a Forever Family

Professional Family Care Services actively recruits prospective parents who want to adopt and give a child a loving permanent home. We know this requires maturity, tremendous patience, strength and much love. We are looking for loving, secure people with the flexibility and determination to take on the responsibility of caring for another human being.

Pennsylvania Statewide Adoption and Permanency NetworkWe are a licensed adoption agency, a local affiliate of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) overseen by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and we offer our prospective parents all the advantages of that network, including the ability to preview profiles of children waiting for adoption.

Professional Family Care Brother and Sister

Our children are a lively and diverse group. Most often they have been in foster care.

Sometimes the children we help come from other counties or across state lines. Sometimes we have local boys and girls in foster care who become eligible for adoption. These children are usually over the age of five.

Some of our children are minorities, some may have a physical, emotional or learning problem. Sometimes we have brothers and sisters who want to stay together.

Expenses are minimal when you adopt a child through the PA SWAN network. You may also receive an Adoption Tax Credit. Click here for more information about adoption assistance.

We try to help our families compete the adoption process as quickly and efficiently as possible. It usually takes several months.

There is a formal application, a medical health check and a review of financial records. Prospective parents are required to undergo a criminal background check and have a child abuse clearance. There is also a home study in which one of our staff members visits your home to be sure it is a safe and healthy place to raise a child.
